What are people saying about SUFI?

April 26, 2011

Acupuncture has changed my life. When I first started treatments at Sufi, I had incredible knee pain and I had just suffered the loss of an early pregnancy. Thomas and Shamsa are not only talented practitioners but incredible listeners as well. With each treatment, I could feel my body releasing stress and my spirit lifting. I would leave feeling refreshed and incredibly uplifted.  Six months into treatment, I found myself pregnant with no knee pain. I continued to receive treatment, which enabled me to let go of pain and stress. Now, a year and a half later, I have a beautiful nine-week-old baby girl, and I am able to run with no pain in my knees.  Sufi Acupuncture not only offers therapy, but the practitioners offer an alternative way of viewing situations so that the patient may learn to refocus energy. With this alternative view, the patient’s outlook brightens and energy is not spent on reliving negative thoughts. Instead, positive energy fills those places where the negative was. Along with treatment, Thomas and Shamsa teach a new way of thinking about things that the patient may practice outside in thereal world. Hence each acupuncture session realigns both body and mind, giving the patient a fresh, clear outlook.  I will always be thankful that I found this practice because other acupuncture practices I could not afford. Out of the generosity of their huge hearts, Thomas and Shamsa practice “community” acupuncture. This means that they are true healers, offering their services to all in the community, regardless of income. Without their generosity, I would not have been able to receive treatment. They are truly incredible individuals with great karma coming their way! I can’t wait to return!                         Kristin Cieza
Hi, Just wanted you to know that the whole day yesterday my leg felt wonderful.—-normal. My arthritis in my thumbs felt better too. Thanks for the service.  I am feeling better than I was                                  Barbara Blair
I started receiving acupuncture treatments for my neck.  After the third treatment, I was amazed at how much better my neck was feeling.  I continued treatments 2 days a week for the next month and my neck feels great.  I am now having treatment for an inflammation in my hip and after only one treatment I am feeling better. Sufi Acupuncture has been such a blessing for me as it is an alternative treatment that I can afford.  I recommend Sufi to everyone I know.

The practitioners at SUFI Acupuncture are thoughtful, intuitive and spirit-guided healers.  Their work continues to make gentle and profound changes in how I feel physically, mentally and emotionally.  I highly recommend their work to anyone experiencing pain that does not respond to traditional Western approaches.

I have an allergy to poison ivy that causes me to react systemically on top of the typical skin inflammation and itching.   Last summer I had a severe reaction that spread across 80% of my body, caused my face to swell and would not respond to multiple treatments of Prednisone at a local urgent care facility.  Over a course of 10 weeks I tried nearly every drug, cream and natural remedy that existed, some of which helped but none of which attacked the root of the issue.  Finally a friend suggested acupuncture and almost immediately after the first treatment I began to feel and see a difference.  Over the next 2-3 weeks my body returned to a state of balance and my skin began to heal.  Since then I have recommend Sufi Acupuncture to anyone who will listen!                                Danielle
What a wonderful place! My first experience was delightful. I left feeling calm and at peace. I never realized that I entered this space in any other condition. I need to make the time to go regularly. I kindly suggest everyone to do the same. Your body and soul will thank you!         Arleen Shuster
I initially became interested in acupuncture to try and rebalance my body after being on birth control for many years with some unpleasant side effects.  My body adjusted and became more regular after about 3 months of treatment and soon I found out I was pregnant.  This was a great feeling…except my body felt horrible!  I returned to acupuncture to help with everything from cramping and headaches to horrific nausea and fatigue.  Once I started to feel better, I stopped going, but resumed about 3 months prior to my due date.  These sessions were so helpful and relaxing.  I had started to swell later in my pregnancy and the sessions really helped to relieve some of my swelling and I could fit my feet into my shoes again.
Unfortunately, my water broke about 6 weeks early and I was in the hospital for about 3 days prior to giving birth.  In my most recent sessions, I had spoken with Thomas about specific points in the body used to help turn the baby.  We had also spoken about utilizing acupuncture to help speed up labor and delivery and reduce pain.  I was stuck in a hospital bed for 2 days and the doctors were going to induce labor with Pitosin.  Having heard horror stories, I wanted to opt for a more natural induction, if possible.  Thomas so thoughtfully came to the hospital and spent at least an hour and a half with me.  During that time I felt relaxed and like my body was trying to become “unstuck.”  Although I ended up with the Pitosin, I can honestly say that I felt minimal pain during my labor and the entire process was done in an hour and fifteen minutes!  My recovery was also quite speedy after delivery and I really felt like myself in a matter of days.  I followed up with acupuncture after my delivery and my milk came in very quickly and in great quantity.  Considering I had a premature infant that I had to feed, this was ideal and I attribute it to my time in the local community acupuncture clinic.
I have since recommended acupuncture to all of my pregnant friends and I try to go back for routine maintenance when I can!  If I had to do it over I would absolutely do acupuncture again.  SUFI is a great place to feel better, relax and get back in balance.

I approached Sufi Accupuncture for some help when I came down with Lyme’s disease.  Not only was the disease debilitating but the month long course of anti-biotic took a heavy toll.  From the very first session I felt some relief from my tiredness and lethargy.  I was able to work throughout the illness and still take care of my health. I am sure that my recovery would have been greatly hampered if I hadn’t been able to access this help.
